OUR " FIRSTS" !!

Turns out to be that all our " Firsts" are officially over. This phase has been nothing less than a sunny winter day,and me finding a rainbow on my pony !! 

We officially completed a year and when I look back to all the beautiful " firsts" it gives me soo much  joy and a hope to look forward to soo many more happy times . AMEN !! 

Starting with the "FIRST KARVACHAUTH" 

Was totally nervous about the fasting but I made it even when moon showed up at 11pm. HUH!! 

"FIRST NEW YEAR" together-Cruising by the harbor witnessing  the breathtaking Fireworks 

Kalyan kept his promise made last year 2011,when he was alone watching the fireworks and told me that we will be seeing the fireworks together in 2012.

I will always cherish the first beautiful year of our togetherness and though I will miss this set of our  "firsts" I know there are  lots of other "firsts" waiting to be discovered !!

Flash Back !!

In my first month of being in Australia ,Kalyan and I moved to Sydney ,biding adieu to Canberra ..... and though Canberra had its own charm , I was very excited to be in Sydney

Celebrating our First Weekend Together !!

In Sydney we Luckily  found a house in a very good location which was close to his work place and entire December went settling in, until , Christmas time !! which was all about fun :-

The Sky walk - Getting the bird view of the city was a splendid site 

               The Opera House stands so mighty and tall , it was a memorable fist visit !!

   After having a day spent well it was then time to unite with the family and we headed to Brisbane. 

   The trip was the best time spent in Australia so far ......all we did was eat , laugh , play and relax :) 

    


At New Year's kalyan surprised me with a cruise trip to see the world famous Fireworks  @Sydney.

 With this in front of my eyes and a warm hug from Kalyan , i couldn't  have asked for  more :)

Then we had an amazing deck party and danced till our toes hurt ...... Our gang had an  AWESOME!! time ( unfortunately we lost over 200 pics ) but it was a night to remember forever !!Thanks Honey :) 

The 360 degree turn in life !!

The small screen in front of me showed "1 hour and 30 min " to reach the destination .. it wasn't that long a time if i was watching a movie or having my fave meal , but to wait for that long was a great big deal... the best i thought was to close my eyes and try to sleep so that the time passes without taking a toll on my patience, so i cuddled in the blue blanky and shut my eyes ... until i was woken by the stewardess. I was sure i had slept for long , till i had a look at the screen again and it was highly disappointing to see " 1 hour 20 min " to reach the destination .. Huh !!

Though the Singapore Airlines takes really good care of you ,but the veggie food served is way too bland or maybe it seemed to me after having the delicious mom cooked food for three months !!

The blue printed uniforms of the stewardess were very stylish and chic and was really making a bold statement,undoubtedly !!

The closed toed shoes were just so lovely that I couldn't resist to ask if these were available otherwise for us to purchase , but she in her very sweet Singaporean accent, apologetically conveyed that these are custom made only for the people on board. Quite expected actually !!

After those very long one and a half hours i reached Sydney , where i was welcomed by Kalyan , i was just too thrilled by the very sight of him, somewhat like i used to be when mom used to come to pick me up in my Kindergarten days .... i know the comparison is a lill weird, but all the more true !!

While pulling my luggage out i saw kalyan standing far with camera in one hand and a rose in the other ....that time when i hugged him i felt "I belong here,in these arms " . My cousins joined us soon and we all drove home .... with another sis waiting for us back home and the Kids whom i was meeting for the very first time ever ..... the boys had their share of Scotch and we all slept early for the very early day next morning ... it was really sweet of my sis to give away her beautiful bedroom to us !!

Woken by the alarm at 4 am I ran down to the kitchen where we girls had decided to eat our early and only meal for the day. We were fasting for karvachauth , a fast that we Indian married women keep for our dear husband's long life & health ... so, no food and no water until the moon is seen !

The ladies with full enthusiasm apply heena on their hands and deck up in the best of traditional attires !!

....... finally it was evening when the whole affair started ... from getting ready to worshiping and to finally having the most wanted evening tea!!

Who wouldn't want to pose happy in front of a person who smiles like this while clicking a picture !!

And so i did !!

though the camera shy that i am , its never enough for him ....

The worshiping part lasted not more than twenty min which was fun as it was my first time ever participating ....... we were free now till the moon showed so we passed time by doing this ..........

The cute lill baby adi stole the show with his so very innocent eyes and a bubbly face !!

Finally we started moving to the point where the moon shows up generally. It was already 10.30pm and the moon was still acting all pricey

And finally after five minutes , the moon showed up , it was HUGE and so very beautiful......finally i did the rituals praying for kalyan's long life and he made me have water .....trust me, it never tasted that sweet ever before !!!

It was a wonderful time spent with my cousins and they made it really very special for me ... the next morning i was excited to leave for Canberra and see my own house for the very first time!

The first weekend in Sydney completely Rocked !!

From 7 days of togetherness to 100 days of separation !!

The Beautiful 7 days with Kalyan seemed to have passed, like in Seconds ........ from the day we got married till the day he had to go back to Oz time passed in a fast forward mode .

In those beautifully spent 7 days we had a few exclusive days spent with his friends,where I felt so easily accepted and absorbed that it seemed as if i was a part of the Gang for many years !!

As we had just a few days we had to do an equal distribution of being with friends , family and taking out the " Us" time , we decided to take a quick trip to Kerala , The back waters -which are in full bloom during the monsoons ....

An exuberant boat house with three attendants was very flattering , all thanks to my amazing husband.... the boat had lavish bedrooms ,dining room and a deck on the first floor !!

It was such a retreat, the best way to get ourselves rejuvenated and rest after putting in all the hardwork for the wedding !! We both slept like Logs that night until woken up by a hot cup of coffee the next morning :)

I was in a deep feeling of content throughout and for a change my mind was actually thinking Nothing (yes ,women can do that as well Mr.Russel peter) .Was loving the serene blue water ,the fresh breeze and kalyan's company .....

Girls will be Girls ( always trying to take control )

Finally,with the Kerala herbal massage our trip came to an end in a blink , and though we spent our first 24 hrs( just the two of us) all time to our self, i had a short preview of what my life is going to be with my darling husband !!

Finally it was the day for him to leave , and i could not just hold a smile on my face for more than a few seconds as i was literally :( within.... We all went to see him off at the airport and it was really tough to see him Go !!

The whole of next day we all had a lot of family fun until i parted ways to go to my folks ....... I feel blessed to have been born in a great family and now married in an awesome one ... his sisters and Bils are so very chill, seems no different than what i feel with my own sis and cousins !!

My passport finally arrives and also, today me and Kalyan complete our 100 days of separation . Just a very few days left until we meet again for " never to part" (as assured by kalyan today :)

THE WAIT IS FINALLY OVER !!!!
